Textiles being my first passion I stumbled across this in Art college trying to develop something different to what the other students were exploring. In a nut shell – once I took up with my sewing machine it took over my art practice for many years. I even based my Masters of Fine Art on Hand embroidery stop motion animation videos exploring the feminist notions of female body identity and the pressures that a woman can face from the generalisation of this form. With this I had the honour of receiving the chancellors awards for Best thesis 2012.
